@ Terry the Photographer….

As a photographer I’m sure you feel that I should always pay a photographer. Have you ever asked anybody for their professional services or goods for free or in exchange for something? I’m guessing the answer is yes. I get asked constantly to give out free advice, help, etc with marketing and technology in general. Sometimes I say yes, sometimes I say no. It’s called the barter system, and it’s worked pretty well for 99.9% of the population.

With this gig, I am paying…to the tune of thousands of dollars of free online promotion. I assure you that most photographers could not afford my marketing services. This is a nice exchange of professional services, opt in, where both parties are happy.

I’d be interested- definite amateur but my parents are professional photographers by trade- grew up around it. I’ve been using a DSLR for 1.5 yrs or so, w/lens assortment from 15-300mm. And I live in the city!

Only catch is I don’t currently have a website/blog- looking to build that out soon! Relying on Facebook uploads now.

Oh, and I’m also in the social media industry! Work for an SF Social Media Monitoring/Analytics company.
